Juan Carlos Idrobo recognized with FACET Award

May 15, 2024

MSE Associate Professor Juan Carlos Idrobo was recognized by the Faculty Appreciation for Career Education & Training (FACET) program, organized by the College of Engineering's Career Center (CC@E). FACET awards honor engineering faculty who have helped students with professional development through mentorship and career preparation beyond the classroom.

The program is unique in that nominations are collected directly from current students in the College of Engineering. Idrobo's dedication to his students can be found in the excerpt from his nomination below.

Juan Carlos Idrobo
"[Professor Idrobo] has continued to help me network and work with more and more researchers and scientists across the world! He also helps me improve on my soft skills such as public speaking, communication, and time management. He has also mentored me on how to write good proposals, presentations slides, and applications. In the future, I know that this is a faculty member that I can always count on to help me become not just a great scientist but also an outstanding professional."

The 2024 awardees were recognized at the FACET awards banquet on May 9, 2024.
